Dr. John Hunter is an anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain specialist. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Medical Degree at the West Virginia University. He went onto complete residency in Anesthesiology at University Hospitals - Case Western Reserve University and fellowship in Pain Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Dr. Hunter is a passionate physician who emphasizes an individualistic approach to each patient. He understands the importance of biopsychosocial aspect of pain. He incorporates physical therapy, activity modifications, medication management, fluoroscopic/ultrasound guided injections and advanced interventional procedures to not only improving pain, but also function and quality of life.
Dr. Hunter has conducted research under some of the most respected leaders in the field of pain medicine. He has been published in the field of neuromodulation – most notably, investigating the safety of advanced pain procedures such as spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal drug delivery.
Dr. Hunter belongs to the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP), the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), Spine Intervention Society (SIS) and the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA).
